Introduction to Toward The One
This domain, sponsored by the Sufi Order of Austin (Austin, Texas, USA), acknowledges and celebrates the thread of unity throughout all religious paths and philosophies, the message of Love, Harmony and Beauty. This thread reflects universal laws, such as the Golden Rule, which appear in the sacred texts of
the world's religions. It is our spiritual quest to see the Divine,
the Only Being, in all the many names and forms which have been
presented to mankind by the Masters, Saints and Prophets of all ages.
We seek to infuse spirituality into everyday
life, wherein peace is possible, non-violence is natural, and
tolerance is a way of life.
"Toward the One" is
the opening phrase of the invocation written by Hazrat Inayat Khan
that simultaneously connects us to and acknowledges the Living
Presence of the One God:
"Toward the One,
the Perfection of Love, Harmony, and Beauty, the Only Being,
united with all the Illuminated Souls, who form the Embodiment of the
Master, the Spirit of Guidance."
