New Class: Path of the Mystic, Treasures of the Heart

“The only power for a mystic is the power of love.”   — Hazrat Inayat Khan

From Pamela: I’m happy to announce a new class on mysticism: The Path of the Mystic, Treasures of the Heart. We will meet for six consecutive weeks, beginning Wednesday, February 26, and running through Wednesday, April 1st, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at our home in Barton Hills, 78704. The class will be by donation—recommended range of $33, $66 to $99 but please don’t let money keep you from participating. To register, please send an email to me: Here are the dates:

February 26, March 4, 11,18 and 25, April 1st

We’ll be exploring the deep heart through the lens of several mystical traditions, including Sufism, Buddhism and Christianity. Some areas of interest we may address are:

·         The subtle anatomy of the heart

·         The powers of the heart

·         Creating a heart field

·         The nature/heart connection

·         The proper work of being human

·         Healing and the sacred heart

·         The contemplative heart

And, of course, the spirit will guide the class so we will be open to the spontaneous guidance that is ever-present when we are attentive and open-hearted. The class will be interactive and experiential, including guided meditations, music, poetry, short inspirational readings and generative dialogue.

I hope you will join us as we join together on the sacred journey of the Heart. Please let me know if you have any questions about the class. I would love to talk with you.

Retreat with Pir Zia, Feb. 13-19 on Mustang Island

(from Azar Baksh Don Weiner)

Dear friends,

The Esoteric Training Committee encourages you to attend a very special alchemical retreat on Mustang Island near Corpus Christi, Texas, with Pir Zia from February 13 to 19, 2020. The retreat will delve intensively into the Alchemical Process as a crucible for dissolution and reintegration. Together in the seclusion of Mustang Island on the Gulf of Mexico, we will spiritually travel to the Light of Lights and return renewed and ready for our shared work in the world. The retreat is open to leaders in each of the concentrations of the Inayati Order. If space is available, mureeds deeply involved in the esoteric school and who are recommended by their Inayati Order spiritual guide are also welcome to attend. This is a very rare opportunity for us to share a deep retreat together. Prior retreat experience is highly recommended, as this will be an advanced retreat.

Registration information can be found at

As of October 9 there are a few remaining spaces for on-site housing, and there are many condos and Airbnb properties nearby.

On behalf of the esoteric training committee and with love,
Azar Baksh Weiner
